NOHIDE / USE CASES

At the point
of need.

A missing child. A planned operation. A phone somebody wants to keep hidden. Put a practical wireless search tool with the officers dealing with the enquiry.

01 / MISSING CHILD

A child is missing.
Every lead matters.

The situation
Officers have a Wi-Fi address previously associated with the child’s phone and a location to check.

How NoHide can help
Use the known-address search to look for matching, supported Wi-Fi transmissions. If the signal is observed, compare it as the team moves to help focus the physical search for the phone.

A device lead that may help urgent enquiries into the child’s whereabouts.

The phone may be separate from the child. Never delay urgent safeguarding action for a scan.

02 / PLANNED OPERATION

Know the devices.
Give the team a head start.

The situation
A search is planned and the investigation already has Wi-Fi addresses associated with devices of interest.

How NoHide can help
Brief the team on the relevant addresses. At the premises, check for matching signals and use the selected signal to guide the physical search for the device. Where lawful and safe, a scan before entry can add an initial observation.

Put the routine wireless check into the search plan, with the officers carrying it out.

03 / OFFENDER MANAGEMENT

A visit is expected.
A device may be hidden.

The situation
A registered sex offender is suspected of concealing a phone or other device before management visits.

How NoHide can help
During an authorised visit or search, check for additional transmitting Wi-Fi devices and compare observations with the devices presented. Where a connection to the local network is authorised, connected-network discovery in the Premises workflow can add to the picture.

Give the team another way to look beyond the devices they are shown.

Listening for Wi-Fi signals and actively checking a connected local network are different activities. Use the appropriate mode and permissions.

WITH THE TEAM. WHEN IT MATTERS.

Routine checks.
Without a specialist call-out.

NoHide is designed for officers without specialist wireless training, with guidance beside the controls. Put it in the search kit so a straightforward wireless check can be carried out by the attending team, without arranging a separate specialist visit.

Keep specialist support for the work that needs it. Twelve months’ product support is included with every device.

Will a recorded MAC address always identify the phone?

A MAC address is an address used by a network interface. Modern phones can use private or changing Wi-Fi addresses, so a previously recorded address may not be the one currently being transmitted. A device must be sending a supported signal to be observed. Assess the address and use case in a demonstration.

What does a signal tell the team?

It is an observation to assess alongside the other information. It does not establish a person’s presence, the device’s ownership or an exact room. No observed signal does not establish absence. Entry, search and force decisions still depend on the applicable powers and circumstances.

Can our team try this workflow before buying?

Ask for a demonstration using the current prototype and the kind of search your team carries out. We can show the configuration, guidance and supported modes, and discuss suitability before quoting.
